10. The Mother Watches
Exhausted on the shore, the mother bear watched as the boat approached her cubs. She considered jumping back into the water to protect them from the fishermen, which frightened the men. They weren’t sure if it was safe to proceed with the rescue.
The fishermen kept a close eye on the mother bear, making sure she wouldn’t come too close. A bear her size could easily overpower the two men. They could only help the cubs if they were certain she would stay far away.
