The Military is one of the areas where technological advancements has really taken center stage. They have embraced technology from high-tech Vehicles, Weaponry and Systems, to robots. Taxpayer’s money is spent to advance the military capabilities every year. Below are some of the impressive military machines ever built.

1. Military BAE Camouflage Technology

This is a technology that is fitted on military vehicles to work as an active camouflage to prevent devices from infrared division from detecting objects or vehicles.

The technology is a product of BAE systems announced in 2011, it uses hexagonal panels which when fitted on cars does the trick.

2. Military WildCat Robot

This product of Boston Robotics is a robot designed to run and to conduct intelligence or to carry cargo in any terrain thus the name Wild Cat Robot.

It can achieve mobility by running making it super amazing and scaring for the enemy target and anybody who comes across it.

3. Military Arquus Scarabee

It came into the limelight during the 2019 Air Show in Paris as a product of Arquus, part of the Volvo division working on light armored vehicles.

These armored vehicles are noiseless making them very suitable for reconnaissance missions and stealth as they use ICE and electric motors hybrid drive.

4. Military Owl-Eye Drone

This drone is designed not to be machine-recognized so that it can be able to bypass any radar drone.

This Owl-Eye Drone is a product of the Russian Intelligence Agencies and it can only be found in Russia. Owl-Eye Drone is made to look like an owl hence the name.

5. Military Army Rotorcraft Technology

This Rotorcraft technology is undergoing various tests such as surviving combat violence, so yes it is a military product.

According to the team leader of ARL-SLAD the program is designed to create some small data on ballistics to reduce the risk and encourage future technology of CTEF by vertical designers.​​​​​​

6. “RoBattle” Military Unmanned Ground Vehicle

This Unmanned Ground Vehicle was made to attack the enemy and lead combat formations, it is well armored and well-armed.

It carries heavy weapons like 25 mm Bushmaster cannons and TOW missiles, it has 6 independent wheels and its system is automated but with the command of a human operator.

​7. Unmanned Guardium Military Ground Vehicles

Israeli Defense Forces uses this remotely operated compact patrol vehicle to haul sensors, cargo or 1.2 tons of weapons.

It is fitted with a 24 hour or 48 hour battery cruise pack and it can endure any kind of ground drone available in the world while patrolling a wide territory.

8. Military TERN Program

Tactically Exploited Reconnaissance Node (TERN) is a program by DARPA meant to assist the military to remotely maneuver rough seas and small decks.

In as much as it is about seas, the end product will be to create an aircraft that can both take off and land using its tail.

9. Military Ghost Fleet Overlord

This is a U.S Navy project known as Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) and two of its vessels have completed two 4-day autonomous transits reaching a milestone.

The two Ghost Fleet Overlords under tests managed a span of over 3,200 nautical miles while logging over 181 hours of autonomous operations.

10. Military ACTUV

Having a submarine that is quiet and self-controlling and can hide near the shore is what made the National Defenses to develop an Anti-Submarine Warfare Continuous Trail Unmanned Vessel (ACTUV).

ACTUV has been nicknamed the Sea Hunter because of its ability to cruise quietly and sneak next to the shore.

11. The Military Gladiator UGCV

The Gladiator UGVC is a modification of the bomb disposal machine used by the Marine Corps with high maneuverability, longer range, and speed, armored against fire from small arms, uses anti-personnel and anti-vehicle weapons in its multi-mission remote battle station.

12. BigDog Military Robot

BigDog was created by Boston Dynamics owned by Google to maneuver different types of terrain without stumbling.

This multiplier of force can run across forests, desert, sand and snow easily making it suitable for equipment and supplies delivery to troops in danger-zones that are risky for human beings and helicopters.

13. Military UH-19XRW Hoverwing

Nicknamed the amphibious Batmobile, the Hoverwing is both part flying boat and hovercraft and it has the capabilities of hauling up to 1,200 pounds of cargo, a maximum speed of 75 mph and a range of 140 miles.

B-21 Raider, designed by Northrup Grumman to assist the Air Force in their desire to have a current version of the Strike Bomber Long Range.

This bad boy is going to operate as a high-altitude stealth drone bomber manned by one pilot to deliver nuclear payloads according to its constructors.

KRATOS BQM-167 Drone sometimes referred to as Skeeter is used by Air Force for Aerial Targets because of its 4th Generation Fighter mount qualities and fighter like features.

16. Military Artillery Gun Module (AGM) Self-Propelled Automated Howitzer

This artillery piece can be fitted to truck frames because of its modular control component and main gun.

Germans have been able to make artillery machines using unused trucks, AGM can be airdropped and ferried by not so large transport planes as they are light, it doesn’t require specialized personnel.

Lockheed Martin SR-72 travels in supersonic speed as it is said to reach any corner of the planet in just an hour, yes an hour.

Am sure you are wondering whether it is true or false, this one engine self-propelled vehicle is able to travel at speeds of over 14,500mph. Next one is Military Ripsaw MS-1.

RIPSAW MS-1 is a less heavy tank controlled remotely travelling at a speed of 95mph becoming the fastest military vehicle in the world.

It is used as a family of support armored personnel carriers, military vehicles and drone tanks with its design being the best of armored vehicles that exist.

This is the future of the Army as an All-Terrain Vehicle, last tested at Texas A&M and it exceeded expectations due to its mobility, consistency and radar functionality.

This vehicle has been referred by some enthusiasts ‘The Un-named Vehicle’ partly because it is built for all terrains and different functions.

20. Military RT01 Transport Vehicle

RT01 Transport Vehicle, a Weyland Corp product and sometimes referred to as the Rover because it tops the list as the most requested product of the company.

It is able to resist temperatures of up to 2000° F because of its alloy wheel system and fitted with nano-reinforced hard-composite treads.

21. Military Non-Pneumatic Tires

The U.S Army has started adopting this Non-Pneumatic Tires because it saves a lot of tax payer’s money, I’m sure you are wondering how?

These tires are airless meaning that they are never flat regardless of the terrain, so they don’t need to replace them often unlike the normal tires.

22. Military Oshkosh M-ATV​

Oshkosh M-ATV which replaced HUMVEE is a supercharged patrol car, small in size yet it can prove useful in combat.

It is faster and more maneuverable and offer good protection from IEDs and rockets. It uses the most recent jammers for IED electronic Warlock and its weapons are operated remotely.

Just from the name this drone made in Croatia is able to clear safe passages in minefields and dig up barricades in few minutes.

It is very quiet as it uses electric power, it can clear the passage remotely and can perform many other functions because of its specialized variants.

A favorite of the Special Forces operators is the earliest water bike used for assault worldwide, it can reach speeds of 45 mph on both water and land with an engine capacity of 140 hp.

It was initially designed for recreational sports, but currently it is used by the military.

25. The Military Wheel Track

The wheel track can transform while in motion changing the wheel to triangle-shape from the usual circular shape in two seconds.

It was developed by the Center for National Robotics Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University winning an award in Popular Science in 2018. It is quite an achievement in this field.

This is one of the best technological improvements in ground-combat which is not-manned, with an engine that is electric/turbo-charged, autonomous suspension and a strong body made of aluminum and titanium.

The Crusher UGVC has hi-tech sensor and an AI suite to enable it to fight or deliver supplies in any weather.

27. Military FLYPmode Patrol Vehicle

FLYPmode Patrol vehicle is still undergoing tests with capabilities of providing protection during deployment of troops, improved visibility, maneuverability and great speed unlike the light MRAP.

The FLYPmode which is part of the DARPA creation is expected in the market soon and it will be modular, less costly and adaptable.

28. Military Fed Alpha Armored Car

The Fed Alpha program was the first replacement of HUVEE but currently it is used to demonstrate technological advancements in combat designs.

It is the most fuel-saving armored vehicle because of its hybrid engine and solar panel to recharge but with same cargo capacity, speed and armor protection like HUVEE.

29. Chenowth Advanced Military Vehicles for Striking Light

Operation Desert Storm made Chenowth Advanced become known as the latest light strike vehicle version which is faster, very mobile and fuel saving than any other versions before it.

It can carry strapped armor and its 160 hp diesel engine can navigate 50% and 75% sloppy areas and gradients respectively.

30. Military Storm Vehicle for Search and Rescue

This vehicle can maneuver any terrain than any wheeled military vehicle, it is the ability to make U-turns and J-turns at high speeds on steep hills and rocky grounds.

It can be dropped in the air from transport helicopters to assist rescue teams to search and move through difficult terrains.

31. Military Buratino TOS-1

This heavy-weight vehicle will carry the day when it comes to design and looks but on maneuverability it takes the last position among the military vehicles.

It is has the ability to throw 24 to 32 arsonist rockets within seconds and is built using T-72 MBT chassis made in Russia.

32. Military UHAC

This is the latest tracked water landing craft used by Marine Corps also called ‘Combat paddleboat’ and it carries more cargo and double the range than large hovercrafts.

For example one UHAC can take in two M1 Abrams tanks at a go even if armor was added to both tanks.

33. Military Merkava IV Windbreaker MBT

Merkava IV Windbreaker MBT outshines many tankers worlwide, it has an inbuilt 60 mm mortar, 120 mm cannon and many remote-controlled machine guns.

The tank can transport an infantry team of four in its cargo bay and a protection system to repel any incoming missiles using its big radar-controlled shotgun.

34. Military Urban Aeronautics AirMule

This is an Israeli Defense Forces product known as flying car built for urban operations to transport thousand pounds of people or equipment for an hour.

It has capabilities of rescuing people from buildings or distributing supplies to areas a helicopter cannot reach because it can fit in tight spaces.

35. Military Skelder V-200

This Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is a product of the Saab which came into the limelight in Paris during the Eurosatory Exhibition of 2006.

It was built for electronic warfare, small cargo transportation, surveillance and gathering of intelligence. It is a medium built vehicle used for vertical takeoff and landing.

The Marine’s New Drone Killer also known as LMADIS consists of two all-weather and all-terrain vehicles called Polaris MRZRs.

Both vehicles work differently, one act as a commanding unit and the other has signal jammers and sensors equipment. This system does not blast artillery or laser but radio frequency signals.

37. Military Black Knight UGCV

This is still in the early stages of development but the results are already promising as it will change the field of combat.

The Black Knight UGCV has many remotely operated machine guns and 30 mm auto cannon, making it the largest and most efficient drone for combat ever seen.

Mega M1 is a beast in its own rights as it is fully-automatic, fully-loaded and fully-electronic designed for riots.

It is used to help manage riots or combat zones and it weighs over 17,500 pounds and fitted with weaponry, climate-control, reinforcement cargo space, CCTV and water-hose to manage any eventuality.

This armored-vehicle is fitted with standard Ford series components to offer good visibility and maneuverability found in many military patrol cars.

It can cruise through any terrain such as streams, steep areas, trenches, mud, ice, sand, rocks and so on with a 40-feet turning-radius making it best both on and off-road.
